About

Sprint Car and Midget media master Sean Buckley has walked many of mile in his size 13’s.

He grew up at the “Commotion by the Ocean” Ventura Raceway watching ESPN cameras record the radness of the “Saturday Night Thunder” midget races.

He was bit by the television and video production bug at a young age. Using a Magnavox VHS camcorder his family won in a contest, Sean went to work.

He shot his first Sprint Car race in November of ’93 (at Ventura).

Since that cool crisp Cali evening, “Buck” went on the road and learned everything he could helping Dean Mills from 1997-2002 taping SCRA Sprint Cars and the Non Wing World Championship. He went full circle and worked ESPN “Thunder” LIVE broadcasts at Bakersfield and Las Vegas in 1998 as an entry level “utility.” The next year he teamed with KADY UPN Channel 63 and helped produce “Saturday Night at the Races” (a local television program featuring the local racing at Ventura Raceway.)

In 2004 he moved north and did double duty co-hosting weekly ESPN racing radio with Kings Speedway boss Dave Swindell.

Buckley finally made the move to the “Racing Capital of the World” (Indianapolis) in 2005. He and Mills would connect once again and tag team the USAC National Series. They shot every race and submitted highlights weekly to the SPEED channel.

In September of that year Sean launched Jackslash.com The inspiration for the site was simple. Create a website that chronicled his “racing adventures” that family and friends could enjoy. This was pre Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

It didn’t take long for the Jackslash craze to blow up and become a worldwide phenomenon. He landed his own Jackslash LIVE Show on RaceFanRadio, then the weekly Jackslash Show on RaceNetwork.

The popularity of those shows would land him his dream job (in 2007) as a pit reporter for the World of Outlaws “Summer of Money” television shows on ESPN2 and SPEED.

The Jackslash explosion would take a fun female turn when “Dirty Danita and Divas” would take center stage. Annual Perris “Oval National” “Chest Fest” ragers brought the fun and debauchery.

Jackslash.com started a fun website that turned into a full blown racing party.

After 5 wild Jagermeister soaked years, Sean decided to clean things up and aim high.

Jackslash.com “On Demand” was launched in 2011.

The “Follow the Corn” documentary series came next in which earned the filmmaker three “International Reel Wheel Film Festival” awards. Sean lived another dream by putting “Follow the Corn 2″ on the big screen in Indy during PRI weekend in 2011.

He has been awarded “Nonwing Media Member of the Year” three times by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame voters.

In 2012, the “Flip the Switch” television show was created and showcased local Indiana Sprint Car racing on WNDY Channel 23 in Indianapolis.

Not satisfied, Sean took a big swing and landed the “Flip the Switch” show on national network MAVTV. The weekly midget and sprint car show was a hit and would change it’s title to “Dirty30” at the start of the 2014 season.

Sean’s Indiana Sprint Car Series, King of the West, Must See Racing, King of the Wings, POWRI, and USAC have all been featured on the Dirty30 program.

From there, Sean has produced over 100 original shows for the MAVTV network with 4 different racing programs. Flip the Switch, Dirty30, IMCA Racing Rewind, and POWRI TV.

Now living back home in Southern California, Buckley is refreshed, inspired, and has no intention of slowing down.

The Jackslash Podcast is a passion and we hope you all enjoy!
